This cheese is named after the state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico. It is a semi-soft, white cheese made from whole cow’s milk. Oaxaca is a beautiful melting cheese, rich in flavour and tradition, and famous for preparing quesadillas, tacos, nachos and empanadas. Â
Slightly salty, with a savoury, mellow, buttery flavour, Oaxaca is sometimes called the “mozzarella of Mexico.”
